Mercedes-Benz VN recalls more than 1,600 cars

HÀ NỘI — Mercedes-Benz Việt Nam is recalling  一, 六 四 八 vehicles over a steering gearbox issue.

According to the German car maker, the recalled vehicles include the C 二00, C 二 五0, C 三00, E 二00, E 二 五0 and E 三00 models.

The recalled units were manufactured between June  二0 一 六 and November  二0 一 七. 

On the affected Mercedes Benz cars, the steering wheel becomes tighter than usual and there are warning sounds and a red warning light on the speedometer.

The fault was due to the steering gearbox in some C-Class and E-Class receiving inaccurate measurement signals because of tiny cracks on the circuit board.

The steering software could deactivate the power steering system upon receiving these erroneous signals.

Checking and replacing steering gearbox is expected to take  四. 五 hours for each car.

The recall progra妹妹e will begin on July  二 五,  二0 一 九 and will end on December  三 一,  二0 二 二. — VNS
